The hotel itself (an ancient house of original internal planning), the location (a 10 to 15-minute quiet walk from the main streets, incl. the Cathedral, shops, restaurants, money exchange offices, laundry services) are excellent. The personnel is responsive and friendly. They even prepared a packed breakfast for my early morning trip to the Colca Canyon that started at 3 a.m.

Just two things that I would not expect from such a nice place: 1) the sink in the bathroom was partly clogged, so the water accumulated while washing my face and hands; 2) the breakfast could have been just a bit richer, e.g. there were only two types of fruit (papaya and grape or tangerine), and even these had to be waited for sometimes; the scrambled eggs were somewhat cold.

The rooms were cold as mentioned from others, but we did sleep well, so it really was ok!

Great location. The room is ok , basic but can’t ask for more for the price really . Cold showers everyday as never managed to get it warm even when I only had the hot tap running . Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the volcano was nice . The staff weren’t too friendly, literally only got a hello and goodbye from them The whole stay . Even when I asked questions about directions to places or recommendations they didn’t seem interested so I just used Google . You have to ring the doorbell every time you come back , which was fine most of the times but one evening we came back around midnight and the receptionist was asleep , we could see her through the window . We stood outside in the cold for about 20 mins .
