Posizione buona per il centro di Funchal, parcheggi disponibili verso la salita. Camera spaziosa di estetica un po' trasandata. Nel complesso leggermente sopravvalutata rispetto a quanto mi aspettavo da punteggio.

Ostello impostato in modo piuttosto tradizionale. Camera privata ma pulizia non sempre soddisfacente, alcune macchie nelle lenzuola e sulle tende. Bagni puliti ma ahimè, l'educazione degli altri utenti ha compromesso la stessa.

It was a quiet safe location. Rooms were a good size.

We did not appreciate that there was no self check in when our plane was delayed. We were not reimbursed our night but we were still not allowed to check in - in the morning. If you have a self check out- you could easily have a self check in. It is a money scam knowing there are so many delayed flights.

The staff were really lovely.

The lack of soundproofing was not ideal. A good night’s sleep relies on other conscientious guests to be quiet, and they mostly were not. I only slept properly one night, but I have to say it’s difficult to stay quiet going in and out of the rooms with the keys/key chain provided, while locking/unlocking doors. The room I stayed in had a strange smell to it. I kept the window open as much as possible but it was winter time so got cold overnight. I used 4 layers of blankets to keep warm overnight, but 2 of them from the wardrobe in the room were stained so I doubt they were cleaned after their last use.
