Sabay Beach

The people made this stay truly special. Some of the warmest and most genuine Khmer hospitality I’ve experienced in several visits to Cambodia. From the moment we arrived, the manager and staff welcomed us with huge smiles, helped with our luggage, offered us a welcome drink and made us feel at home. Every time we passed reception there was a greeting, a joke or a little conversation. Special thanks to the manager with his permanently big smile, the two wonderful guys working there, and the little girl who was often around — if you read this, you genuinely made our stay! The property itself is beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by greenery directly on the river. We stayed in both a riverfront house and later a three-level treehouse with hammocks and several places to relax. The staff even moved our luggage when we switched. There’s a small beach, a good restaurant and free kayaks, which we took out onto the river for a couple of hours. It never felt like hospitality simply because it was their job. It felt genuine and personal, almost like we were living there together for a few days. That’s rare.

It is a little outside Kampot, so you’ll generally need a tuk-tuk or scooter to get into town. For us this wasn’t really a negative, though — the location is exactly what makes Sabay Beach so peaceful and relaxing.

My second time returning to this beautiful serene oasis in the Kampot riverside. A truly tranquil place to escape and take a break from the hectic life of travelling. It is a real treat with incredible service yet again from Pheakdey, Misi and Andrews and the rest of the staff (I'm sorry I forgot the lovely ladies name on the bar/in reception) Food is out of this world, nice gym and yoga equipment for a great start to the morning. Highly recommend. I'll be back soon 🤗

Pheakey and the rest of the staff were exceptionally helpful and all the staff made sure that they remembered all the guests names and pronounced them properly. We was very impressed. Nothing, perhaps all the stairs.

Not much. Very small, no privacy anywhere, nothing special about it at all. The bed was comfy.

Our room was tiny, with a bunk bed, no fan only noisy ac, bathroom floor flooded with water the whole time so every time you use the loo you have to wade thru water. Bathroom quite grubby, water pressure poor in the shower, and the front ‘terrace’ looks directly at neighbours bathroom, no fan on the terrace.
