The Plough Inn

The pub is a traditional 'coaching inn' located on the main road in Ellington. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful, & efficient. The bedrooms (there are only four) were a good size, with comfortable beds, & nice furniture & decor - the bathrooms were large & modern. Our evening meal was good 'pub grub' nicely presented, & very reasonably priced. Overall, it is a good place to stay & eat.

Made real effort to make the room cosy and quirky

Little bit of black mold in shower otherwise all good

The evening bar staff were very pleasant. The towels in the room were lovely and soft. The bed was comfortable.

The noise from a generator or fan or something in the public below was bad. The bin in the shower room had not been emptied when we arrived and it was disgusting. The sink in the shower room was tiny and when bending over to clean your teeth, you hit your head on the shelf above the sink. There was not enough room to be able to fill the kettle from the sink in the shower room. Sockets were inaccessible- you either had to move a large piece of furniture or bend down and squeeze along to get a plug-in. The shower surround at the bottom was coming away. The breakfast was poor there was only a choice of cornflakes or crunchy nut cornflakes and orange juice or tea coffee. Coffee was strong, cold and undrinkable. The cooked breakfast was greasy. We also had a meal on the evening of arrival which took ages to come and was disappointing. I’m sorry to say that we will not stay in the Plough again.
