The Slate

The staff were friendly and accommodating. The dinner was very good as was the very generous full Welsh breakfast. The room was very clean, spacious and well appointed. I’m very happy to recommend this establishment.

Extremely helpful and welcoming staff. I arrived at night so unable to see outside very well, but cosy and well decorated inside. Only had breakfast but it was delicious. My single room was very clean and bed very comfortable.

Very minor details, toilet seat loose and towel rail rusty.

Nothing springs to mind

The staff at the slate are outstanding. Happy and helpful at all times. The room was very clean and tidy with a spotless shower room and wc. Tea and coffee along with shower soaps were all good. Very good wi fi. I ate there 3 times in the evening and have no complaints about the food. The 16 hour brisket with mash and veg was delicious. The location to visit a lot of areas of outstanding natural beauty and historical venues is perfect with nothing being too far from the hotel.

My ONLY downside is the noise in the room from the bar and then what seemed like staff clearing up. and doors closing loudly. An early night ,lets say 10 to 10.30pm is not easy even with ear plugs. Unfortunately the sound of voices really reverberates around the room. I do not use the blackout blind as it feels claustrophobic to me and on my last night the security lights directly outside my window were on and off constantly until 12.15 am. which wasn't nice and left me very tired in the morning.
