Umi Hotel

The location is convenient for my trip and vey cool environment.

Umi was stunning, set in a beautiful location. The walk to the beach was wonderful and bracing! It was one of the two more expensive hotels we stayed in on the trip, the other was Magma (a linked hotel). Umi was by the far the better hotel- from the stunning food (dinner and breakfast were excellent), the warm environment and friendly team. We stayed in Umi then Magma- wish we had just had two nights in Umi. Horses walking alongside the windows at breakfast was a treat, as was the sighting of the northern lights. Really lovely place, will recommend to others. There was some building work going on for an extension. Didn’t inconvenience us at all, was well covered to avoid impacting on guests. Exciting times coming for Umi.

The Staff was amazing! They made you feel very welcomed. My wife and I decided to walk to the beach at dusk and they made sure we were good and gave us a light for the walk back. If we ask about different areas to see they gave us suggestions and tips.

Room didn't have AC. They did provide us with a fan so we were good. We didn't see the northern lights but that wasn't the hotel's fault. Just bad timing.

For some reason there is Laundry/housekeeping work station in the middle of the hallway of rooms. Staff are loud when one is in their room. Room Doors don't close properly. Driveway/entrance area full of potholes and muddy. Food overpriced and rooms appear to be furnished by IKEA. Only one coffee capsule per person in the room instead of two. Very cheap.....
