The setting was great.

It was not luxury. It was good, but not great. The food, the tent, the game viewing...again - most things on offer were good but not great.

Small and private

Awesome stay. From Arrival till departure, you are treated like a VIP. Parking is ample and WhatsApp messages keep you informed till you are met at the main gate. Be prepared to eat. Food is outstanding. Drinks flow. Tents are spacious and very comfortable. Beds are wide. Electric blankets are switched on while you enjoy the afternoon game drive. Game viewing is awesome and lots to see. Swimming pool is clean (but cold in winter) Food is 5 stars. Minor point- drink selection is limited and no fridge in tent.

Drink selection is limited and no fridge in tent. Some drinks are not free but cheap enough.

Loved that it was secluded and niche The weather was not great - but that’s ok if everyone control The accommodation is stunning and really enjoyed the outdoor shower

The organisation of the trip There definitely should be a host over an above a ranger managing / helping people. MJ the Ranger was really great and did an exceptional job of managing all on his own - although you could feel the lack of customer service due to managing too much. We were contacted on the morning en route to Mabula - a day before should be standard for a boutique experience. I asked if there were non - alcoholic options for drinks and they confirmed yes - but this was not the case. Told the lodge it was my birthday weekend getaway - zero added value service for this - stance for a boutique experience . Staff did not seem so friendly - or didn’t feel some were ‘happy’ For what you pay versus the experience - I’m not sure if it’s worth it - to be honest
