Hotel Sant Gothard by Nexta

Location and staff very nice. The pool was cool but nice (late september). Liked the sound of the river with water coming down from the mountains.

Spacious room even for 3 adults. Everything clean, comfortable and room was well equipped even with a mini fridge. There is a bath in the bathroom which can be comfortable in colder months to take a bath in. The breakfast is plentiful and just amazing. Lots and lots of choices from fruit, fresh local cheese, to fresh pastry and surprisingly good coffee from the coffee machine (for a hotel). Check in at the reception was flawless and the lady spoke good English. Welcome drink was a pleasant surprise after a long drive. Parking is very spacious and is not just one dedicated parking lot, but with a kind of an overflow parking across the street also located conveniently.

We didn't have a particularly nice view of the mountains from our room. With our windows opened, the road just by the hotel was very loud with busy traffic late into the night. Staff at the bar was clearly overwhelmed and people were queuing up even for a quick welcome drink. It was hard to explain anything in English at the bar.

The property was well located for us with excellent availability of parking. Facilities were good with outdoor pool, tennis etc and board games available from reception. The buffet dinner option was very good and excellent value. There were also plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance.

Hotel caters for a lot of coach groups (2 per night during our stay) which creates noise early in the morning as doors impossible to close quietly and also makes breakfast a challenge.

No AC. We have come to expect this with 4 stars.
