Hotel Centro

We really liked the location right in the historic downtown close to the Basilica (Duomo) di Santa Maria Novella. We walked with carry-on luggage 850 meters from the train station. We booked this room only about 5 days ahead as our traveling plans had changed and appreciated being able to book this place. We had the big 'family' room and we were only 2. A nice guy working there welcomed us and gave all the info and showed us to the room. The king bed was comfortable enough and clean. The bathroom was big with 2 sinks, a shower and clean. We had just a small fridge that worked ok. They came in and did daily service with towels, shampoo, and shower gel (which we didn't expect). We could open the windows and see what was happening in the busy street below. The A/C worked and we closed the windows at night and we didn't hear much traffic noise. We saw a couple of good thunder and lightning storms with a downpour. It passed and we were able to go out :)

The lighting was a bit dim by the overhead lighting in the main area, and dark by the entrance inside the room. Bathroom lighting just ok.

It is in a good location not far from the train station and many of Florence’s landmarks. The room contained the amenities that were promised. The staff addressed issues that were raised.

There was some noise from neighbors from opening and closing doors and water usage (the doors/keys are somewhat confusing to get through multiple gates and the stairway lighting and signage could be better to address this), the drains needed to be cleared when we arrived and the WiFi didn’t always work.

Ottima posizione, molto centrale. Nostra stanza quadrupla ampia, rinnovata molto recentemente con arredi in stile minimalista, essenziali ma funzionali. Letti comodi e con buona biancheria. Anche il bagno ampio e recente.

Consiglio di tener chiuse le finestre, soprattutto di notte, per isolarsi dai rumori della strada sottostante, stretta ed incassata come tutte quelle del centro di Firenze: gli infissi recenti isolano bene, utilizzare il condizionatore. Tenere presente che non è prevista prima colazione, disponibile solo piccolo spazio caffetteria con necessario per prepararsi the ed infusi. La reception ha orari limitati (8 - 20) e gli addetti talvolta vanno cercati per telefono (l'hotel è disposto su due piani separati): tener presente per check-in e check-out. Una rampa della scala di accesso del palazzo d'epoca non è illuminata, lampada da sostituire. Vista la zona, difficile l'accesso in auto
