The breakfast was good and the service excellent. Very nice and friendly staff who couldn't do enough for you. The first room we were allocated was pretty grey and dowdy and pretty disappointing - bearing in mind the cost.
For what we assumed was a luxurious hotel the only luxury was the priced - quite simply totally overpriced. The evening menu looked inviting but come on £46 for a bit of steak without any extras has to be a laugh!
The Sole on the menu I thought was reasonably priced at £37 but I'm a fisherman myself and if I caught a Sole that small I would have returned it to the Sea!
It's a totally overrated venue probably because it attracts a lot of rich, loud, American golfers who seemed to think they were Scottie Scheffler and obviously have the wallets to match the Marine Troon's pricing.
Thanks but wouldn't be on my list for a return visit!
