The bar room
Breakfast very poor, cold, hard black pudding, sausage hard, bacon poor quality, mushrooms cover in grease, hash browns over cooked in fat oil £17 a breakfast worth a fiver if u like grease and overcooked for, I didn't eat it no refund given 😳 rooms outdated small toilet and shower could not move, at least the location was great.

This is a busy pub in ambleside, we usually stay in our own place but we were only here for 2 nights this time. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The pub area is nice and cosy and we had a few drinks in there on the Saturday night. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Location was great for pottering around ambleside as you’re right in the centre.
It’s a shame they have no parking. The closest public car park can get really busy, especially if you’re not there first thing in the morning. On Saturday afternoon when we returned from being out for the day we had to drive round about 10 times to get a space and there were many other cars still driving around, we just got lucky and saw a man leaving right by where we had stopped. Also the telly in our room didn’t have a working remote control. Not the end of the world but for a room over £200 a night, you’d at least expect that.
