Perfect location, nice comfy rooms but very pricey.

Bathroom was a bit smelly and the fan wasn’t working.

The music, especially at breakfast and the back yard entrance to our room.

I think the location was brilliant right next to the lake where the ferry passes across lake windermere. Also only a 10-15 walk into ambleside itself. Great views from the restaurant and outside seating area. Staff were also friendly and asked about our stay and had a good conversation when ordering drinks etc.

I think this isnt a 4 star hotel it’s more like a 2/3 or like people say a pub with rooms. To think this is the same star rating as low wood bay when the difference in cleanliness and rooms are massively different. We went to our room across the car park to find theres paint missing on the doors, theres spiders in corners with dust, half of the bath tub was hanging off and the shower leaked all over the floor. It smelt a bit weird inside in the room, the bed was just two singles pushed together and the mattresses are so not comfortable, me and my partner were tossing and turning all night and I actually felt stiff the next day from the mattress. Also the room was absolutely boiling, we tried to turn the heating down off the thermostat in the room but it was still a million degrees so we opened the window, but found someone had parked right outside our window (which wasnt a car park) and were slamming doors at 6/7am as well as the busy road next to us which we could hear every car going past. For £265 for one night with breakfast, you would expect a bit more luxury, but this room was probably worse than a premier inn and for that price its astonishing! It’s just based on that price off the location but the rooms need TLC!
