The White Tulip Hostel

Very central. Comfortable beds. 24 hours reception. Fully closed showers. Under bed storage is big and lockable. Feels safe.

No kitchen, and minimal fridge. No lounge area. Not many bathrooms or showers, but still managed to always find a free one. Outside noise pretty annoying as it faces a very high traffic pedestrian street (drunk people all night long). There's fans, but they don't point to everywhere in the room so it might get warm. Steep and narrow stairs.

for a person who is tall, the upper bunk is not appropriate, as the roof height is low room and bed was working for price around the location

It is located right next to the railway station in the city center—you can wake up to the sound of the Old Church bells. Alexa (unlike the men) helped me carry up my luggage, as the staircase there is quite steep.

Be aware: if you make several separate one-day bookings instead of a single reservation for the entire duration, pre-authorization funds will be held on your card for EACh booking, yet you will still have to pay for the stay upon arrival at the hostel (and then wait for the held funds to be released back to your card). Aside from the time wasted dealing with the refund of pre-authorized funds, I had to remind the staff every morning that I had bookings for the following days as well; the employees kept trying to "remind" me to check out because they hadn't noticed I had multiple separate reservations—even though I had already paid for the entire stay! One of the receptionists (the black man) not only barged into the room unceremoniously while I was in bed but also took issue with the way I looked at him; he started mocking me and asked my name. When I answered, his reaction was even more disconcerting: "Oh, so you're the one." Later, this same black employee got into a conflict with another guest at the front desk—a guest who apparently couldn't stand up for his rights and eventually stated he would have to call the police to protect his interests. All of this demonstrates the black receptionist's lack of hospitality and inability to get along with guests. Some of the toilet stalls on the first floor were out of toilet paper, even though it was the middle of the day. By the end of the day, the soap dishes above the washbasins may be empty, and there is no soap at all in the showers.
