Traditional Japanese house in a valley 1h from Kyoto. The house is very neat, clean and with a lot of space, the owners were very helpful and kind and they prepared us a wonderful meat-based dinner to cook on the brazier in the center of the living room. The house offers a typical goemon bath with wood-fired water, the experience is very nice.

Lovely, remote stay in an old house, highly recommended.

Very traditional house, very nice and helpful hosts, natural setting , nice evening meal. Breakfast great too. I'd highly recommend paying 4000 extra for meals- they're delicious and very filling

I was warned about the low beams but I still banged my head three times. They're just the right height to seem high but clip your head if you're an average height westerner. Also, bath time wasn't so easy. It advertised a hot tub and jacuzzi and I was expecting luxury. The reality is a traditional Japanese wood fired bath in an outhouse. You have to walk through the yard to get there. A unique experience to be sure- but not so easy with kids.

We opted for the inclusion of dinner and breakfast. These turned out to be very special and delicious meals, one of our favorites during a our three week travels in Japan.
