We really enjoyed staying in this condo! The wall of windows leading to a terrace overlooking the ocean gave us plenty of sunshine and a terrific view of the sunset and the surfers. The kitchen was well equipped and the collection of beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, snorkeling equipment etc. was appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

Spent an amazing week at this beautiful condo, which featured everything one would need. Owners were responsive, property was spotless and the location unbeatable. Only wish I could bottle the sound of the surf and the continuous gentle breeze to bring with us back to the mainland. Would love to return some time!

We stayed here for 5-6 days and it was great. Only a couple miles down the beach from town, it's a quiet location with covered parking and an elevator. There was plenty of space for the four of us (2 adults, 2 teens) to spread out comfortably and it was very well-stocked with everything from beach gear to kitchen ware and spices. And, the view! Looking out over the Banyans surf spot from sunrise to sunset is hard to beat.
I appreciated all of those details so much more after our kids flew home early and we switched to a smaller place in town. While walking to a restaurant was convenient, the downside was a noisy view of Henry St., spread out parking, and hiking luggage up three flights of stairs. Something for travelers to consider when comparing options.
The owners were great too. They were always quick to respond and were completely accommodating to the handful of changes we needed to make, before and during our stay, to ensure we had the best time possible.

When I found this while searching VBRO, I immediately knew this was the place for us. We wanted something that was ocean front....and this is absolutely that! You have these huge floor to ceiling windows just a few feet from the ocean and then combined with a perfect balcony where you could just stare at the ocean all day if you wanted. Then, there's always surfers to watch...it's like a private viewing party (I would have paid for that). Then, add in amazing sunsets every night from the balcony while enjoying a drink or snack/dinner. The host is amazing, too. She gives you her inside scoop into great places to visit and eat. Our favorite beach was one she recommended and wasn't in the two guide books we had studied. We went there three times and it was exactly the kind of beach we wanted: not crowded, calm waters in a bay leading to plentiful and easy snorkeling. We feel like we won the lottery when staying here and will be back again if we ever return to the Big Island. You will not be disappointed if this unit is available during the dates you want to go.

we loved this place easy to get in and out of , clean and in order lots of toys to use chairs , towels snorkles etc ..was a short drive to the strip where everything was happening . The beds were super comfy ! Our only complaint would be to please invest in a split unit AC for the back room our poor friends were dying hot even with all the fans the one AC in master doesn't get to the back of the unit . other then that this place was awesome !! thanks for making it so easy

Was really happy with our choice. Could not beat the view from our room and proximity to the water. Made us not want to leave our room. Free covered parking with a reserved spot. Nicely decorated. Had everything you could possibly need including boogie boards, beach towels, kitchen needs, and appliances. Really enjoyed that it was a small complex and not busy. When we used the pool, no one else was even in it. We could see sea turtles, beautiful yellow tang, and other fish just by sitting out on our lanai. Lots of surfers in the morning and evening. One day when there was no surf we saw people go pretty far out and snorkel. It is next to a very small beach that has shade trees. Lots of great snorkeling close by. The size was perfect for us, but you could sleep 7. Loved having a washer and dryer inside the unit. The breeze and ceiling fans kept the condo at a perfect temperature so much so that we never turned the air conditioning on. King bed was super comfortable. Appreciated the compendium binder that gave us the rules of the condo, how to use things, and suggestions on where to go and things to do. The unit is fairly close to (short drive) to Walmart, Costco, and many other restaurants, and shops. We would definitely stay there again should we come back to the Big Island.

Our stay was absolutely fabulous! It was wonderful to wake up to the ocean and watch the surfers. The sunsets were beautiful! The location was great! It was close enough to town, yet away from town traffic. The hosts had great recommendations for everything on the island. The pool is small but perfect for a dip. The area is quiet and calm, which we loved. It was like a private hidden resort. We would come back for sure.

Amazing view from the condo, which is why it was originally booked. Peaceful neighborhood. Great location not too close to tourist areas but close enough to grab dinner in downtown Kona since there aren’t many other restaurants nearby.

We love this place with its floor to ceiling windows bringing the waves into your living room and bedroom. Nice furniture and kitchen
Only downside was that the floors had not been cleaned and were sandy and the front bathtub and bath mat were substandard for cleanliness

This condo is perfect! The floor to ceiling windows across the back are the best part. Outstanding view, and the sound of the surf is out of this world. Surfers gather at this specific spot and are fun to watch. We saw plenty of whale and dolphin activity as well.
The condo is easy to find, parking is no problem, and the rules of the building make sense.
Can't recommend this stay enough!

We absolutely loved our holiday stay. Chrissy was extemely responsive to any questions I had. The unit it so well stocked both in the kitchen and with beach items (snorkeling, boogie boards, beach chairs and coolers!). My brother stayed in a different unit that didn't ahve nearly as much and it made such a difference. We were able to cook and enjoy. We had coffee and watched surfers, whales, and boats every morning as the sun came up and had unbelieveable sunsets every night. I would recommend this unit to anyone!

This a highly recommended property. The space was perfect for four adults staying for a week. The kitchen is well stocked to satisfy the cook in the family and allow you to cook as much as your heart desires. There is a washer/dryer in the unit for those who might want to travel light. The top element is the ability to watch a gorgeous sunset every night and listen to the crashing waves. It's a great condo to make everyone happy.

My wife, two college-aged daughters and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Banyons. The condo is right on the water with wonderful views of the ocean and surfers enjoying the waves. The complex is a little quirky with a temperamental elevator and condo keypad, but those were very minor issues. Chrissy was such a nice and responsive owner and we appreciated her recommendations for nearby sites, restaurants, etc. A couple mile walk to town or nearby beaches, but involves walking on the shoulder of a fairly busy road. Overall loved our stay.

amazing views of surfers from the balcony, living room and master bedroom. perfect location just south of the Old Kona Town. Less traffic to deal with in this location. There are sand beaches within walking distance. The unit has an upgraded kitchen, and good wifi. Plenty of towels, beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers.
The owner was great at communication, and very helpful with info about the Island. Great restaurant suggestions. I will definitely return to this property.

What a fantastic property! This was our first time to Hawaii, and we could not be happier with where we stayed. The views were breathtaking, the location very central, and amenities top notch. I don't know what was better, the property while we stayed there, or the outstanding communication with the host Chrissy. Chrissy went out of her way to make sure that we had a relaxing time in Kona. The booking process, check-in vacationing, and check-out were all easy and as relaxing as you would expect from an vacation in Hawaii. We will be back! Chrissy, thanks for letting my family create new memories at your property! Some highlights:
1. Kona is a great location for exploring the entire island. This condo is not far from anything in Kona (grocery, nightlife, beaches, and outstanding views).
2. The condo was very comfortable. The AC only works in the master bedroom, but we had 5 floor fans provided by the host as well as ceiling fans in every room. We found that the AC only needs to be ran for an hour or so when you first show up to cut the humidity in the unit, and the many fans kept us comfortable the rest of the time.
3. The kitchen is fully stocked, even with light foods that you might want when you first arrive (left by prior occupants). The TV/Cable is excellent for whatever you might want to watch for any possible down time you have on the island (which won't be much).
4. There is a small sand beach next to the condo, and public ocean access!

Wonderful place to stay in terms of location and incredible sunset views. So fun to watch the surfers too! Only complaint is the electrical issues with some outlets and the dishwasher would not start, but was fabulous otherwise and lots of alternative outlets available.

We all enjoyed our stay at The Banyan Tree. The ocean view was fabulous. Though you can get nice breeze, but we had to keep the sliding doors closed at night because the splashing of waves were too loud. The kitchen was well equipped but we didn’t cook at all. I bought a pineapple and it was hard to cut with the knives they had were all dull. I forgot to mention that to her.

Great spot on a surfing beach, enjoyed watching the surfers every day! Close to great snorkeling and to “downtown” Kona restaurants, etc. if you want to hear the ocean while you sleep this place is for you!

Thank you once again for sharing your amazing property with us! This was our 5th time at Banyon Tree and we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. What a treat it was to watch all the surfer’s taking advantage of the giant waves from the hurricane right from our lani or pool. It’s so nice to have many of the things we need already there.. sand chairs, umbrellas, beach toys and even floaties.. The kitchen is well stocked with necessities also, between Chrissy and previous guests there always seems to be ziplocks, coffee filters and many basics so you don’t have to buy everything. The owners are terrific to work with and always want to make sure we’re comfortable! We will be back soon!

Fantastic condo
Great views, very spacious condo. Impressed with accommodations, plenty of pantry items. We didn't need anything, the owner supplied, buggy boards, noodles, beach chairs, beach towels towels.
The green binder had information about local attractions only wish they had included restaurants.
The family is already returning to Banyon Tree Condos.

It’s a 1-2 miles from town where there are loads of shops and restuarants all that cater to tourists in the area. The condo is fully furnished, and has a pantry and fridge well stocked with staples. The view is amazing! It’s the perfect place to sit with drink watching the ocean, surfers and sunsets and listen to the waves.
The beaches on this island tend to be very rocky; however, there are 2-3 of the sandier beaches within a couple miles if this property. If you have kids, going to the octopus farm for a tour, and/or the sea horse farms are great excursions. The Mauna Kea Summit Adventure, which we think is a must-see experience, does have a pick up in Kona.
Note: many other island activities like the natural parks where you can hike to caves and waterfalls are an hour drive away. Seeing any of the volcano-national park or related places like the black or green sand beaches are a 2-2.5 hour drive.
