Loved the location and whole cave experience.
Very difficult to find parking and then go back and forth from where you park.

We were very impressed by the property's well-preserved history, which gives it a distinct local character.
The metal spiral staircase, which led to the upper level of the cave and a double bed, was beautifully curved but too narrow. The apartment also includes two single beds on the ground floor, one of which converts into a double sofa bed, offering a convenient and space-saving alternative.

The cave house was amazing and really made our trip to Matera. Giovanni was great at explaining the history of the cave and providing information on places to go. There is a fabulous restaurant/bar with a panoramic view 5 mins from the house that we would never have found without Giovanni. The downstairs room felt like our very own bar! There was a heat wave when we were there but the cave was cool. The location was excellent.
There was nothing not to like. I am grateful to the reviewer who said if you are hesitating about booking this property - don't just book it. It is fabulous.
