The Station Hotel

Big bed, spacious room, breakfast was okay, location right in the center.

Overpriced as too often in Scotland.

Hotel, is obviously undergoing some work. What let the room down, was paint spotting on furniture. Mould in shower, shower leaked, due to sealant away from shower base. Shower room needs a deep clean. Otherwise a great room. Change in breakfast since we last stayed

Lots So, it was cheap...ish, and the reviews aren't amazing, but I love where it is. I wouldn't go back. The atmosphere is kinda weird, and front of house isn't particularly inspiring, also not very clean looking. The stair carpet looked like it hadn't been hoovered in days and there was a string smell of damp upstairs. The room itself was ok. The bed was clean, but the bathroom was pretty bad. At first glance, it looked ok, but the shower didn't work (even though I followed the instructions), and there was no cold water from the sink. I had to fill the kettle from the bath. The breakfast was bizarre. No guidance, sat wherever, no tea or coffee offered, no menu. Asked if I wanted breakfast, then asked if that included meat? Waited an age for what was a poor offering. I was glad to leave and certainly won't be back, which is a shame, as it's a lovely spot.
