Toller Ort

Sehr nettes Personal, immer hilfsbereit. Super Ort. Gut gelegen für alle Wanderungen. Entspannend. Sehr gutes Frühstück. Einfach sehr angenehm. Sehr nachhaltig konzipiert: Trinkwasser zum Nachfüllen, konzentrierte Menükarte, die sich aber nach drei Tagen wiederholte.

Nichts. Oder mehr Abwechslung in der Speisekarte.

Good comfortable choice in quiet locationo with old world colonial feelwith

A lovely small hotel with a colonial feel The rooms are in bomas in lovely hotel gardens. Well situated in a quiet area and able to walk into centre of town in 15 minutes. The restaurant and bar are good and comfortable with good Wi-Fi in the main building and pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had our own vehicle which made trips easy to the surrounding countryside but well worth taking a local guide. Trips can be organised by the hotel if needed

Sehr gemütliches und geselliges Hotel mit toller Einrichtung

Tolle Gemeinschaftsräume und Terrasse, Pool und Sauna, sehr gutes Essen insbesondere die lokalen Gerichte, komfortables, einfaches Zimmer. Abends gemeinsam Fussball gucken, am Feuer sitzen oder Kicker spielen, super Atmosphäre und sehr nettes Team!

As always - a cool, cosy, green hilly sanctuary

Fabulous hosts - as always. We had to leave a night early due to a family illness back in Dar es Salaam - the host could not have been more kind. We've stayed many times - and will keep coming back!

Family friendly location

Beautiful environment with great services (restaurant, wifi, spa).

We did take our 3 year old on the playground, but it was pretty simple, it would need to be updated.

Great stay- definitely recommend

Lovely place filled with character. The children loved the pool, table football and darts! Food nice and all the staff were so lovely and hospitable.

Great basis to explore the beautiful Usambara mountains

Great atmosphere and very helpful staff. The hotel is a great to explore the Usambara mountains and relax in the hotel grounds at the end of your hiking trips.

The location was close to the village and the facilities were pretty good for Africa.

No hot water, and only a very small discount was given from that big inconvenience. Laundry was way overpriced considering I brought my own laundry soap and fabric softener. Towels and sheets were still damp in the rooms and the towels were such poor quality that they don’t even dry your body. Food was good but also way overpriced for the region.

Lovely gardens with stunning view over Lushoto. Cosy lounge with fireplace. Good breakfast.

Convenient base for exploring the Usambara Mountains

Comfortable chalets located around a lush garden, in a quiet area. Good overall facilities and attentive management. Convenient base for activities in the area.

Food could have been better, but understandably it was off season and the hotel was under staffed.

We had an an amazing time at Lawns Hotel, the staff is super friendly and very helpful for whatever questions you have. The food and the view are excellent! We also booked a half day hiking trip at the accompanying office and it wa an amazing hike through the beautiful and luscious mountains.

Really beautiful place and sometimes the best breakfast in Tanz

On the first day I mentioned that it was probably the best breakfast in Tanzania! Then the second day wasn’t as good by the third day it declined rapidly. I think it’s because I was the only person there. The rooms are cleaned daily, fresh filtered water provided. The first two days again, amazing shower but the third day there was no hot water, again I assume because I was the only person there. Oh, the negroni’s are really good!

The noise is a lot, but most of it is outside of the control of the venue with nightclubs nearby. However, there is a security alarm that goes off at 3am on the property that wakes you violently.

Great place to relax

The Lawns was a great place to unwind and relax, with beautiful surroundings and comfortable facilities. I appreciated that drinking water was provided from their own water source, as it helped to reduce plastic waste. Also had opportunities to unplug, because the Internet did not connect in our room. Also had a great massage at the spa.

Unfortunately road works were happening for the first couple of days during our stay and there was noise throughout the day and during my treatment at the spa. Also, when more guests arrived, there was not enough hot water. Though nights are cool, there are no fans available for the hot days. Seemed like a pool was being put in on the grounds, not sure at all, but hope the sustainability and water conservation efforts will continue.

An oasis of peace

Hotel full of character, beautiful well maintained grounds, helpful staff. Good base for exploring the Usumbara Within easy walking distance of bus stand

Exceptional

Lawns Hotel is situated a bit outside the town center, but a short walling distance away. It has beautiful setting with gardens and terrace. We stayed twice, at the start and end of our mountain trek, and it was a real treat. Both rooms were comfortable and . clean . Breakfastwelll was excellent.

Friendly staff who went above and beyond to get diet Pepsi from the village when they didn't have it at the hotel. Great location with wonderful gardens. Comfy hotel room.

Quiet charming and very comfortable!

This was by far the best hotel we stayed in Tanzania. It is located in the town of Lushoto but at the same time it felt like we were staying in the woods. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The shared spaces are also of great aesthetic and there is an amazing balcony that one can enjoy their drinks.

Exceptional

Paradise on Earth. Location of this hotel is just amazing. Walking distance to everything (town, waterfalls, restaurants, ...). And the place itself is so beautiful. So green. Just being there could be enough :) We actually extended our stay, because we didn't want to leave. Room was really nice and clean. Great shower with hot water. Breakfast was really delicious as well. And the staff was really very friendly.

This is always a good place to stay. This place gives you chills of nostalgia. Beautiful environment. Very nice and clean rooms. Friendly staff. Near to city centre but still far enough away from yraffic noise. We loved the Chrismas decoration

Sometimes you hear a bar somewhere until night. Sauna is ugly and not well mantained. Little choices of food. We would love more vegetarian food. Overall food could be better for the price.
