The location was fantastic. Great view of Kyoto Station and easily walkable.
The staff was seemingly rude to foreigners. Did the prebooking online for supposed “faster checkin” but when we arrived, they did not let us use the computer and we had to wait 1hr+ to check in. Natives were pushed ahead of the couple of foreigners that were there. What was the point of precheckin emails that I was spammed with?

Good access to dining options - particularly in train station.
Onsen located in the hotel.
The rooms are very compact, which takes some management as a couple with suitcases/bags etc. If you are big built people, this room would be very difficult to manage in - smaller double bed positioned against wall.

The hotel was super nice and clean, and the staff were especially helpful and friendly during our stay. The facilities were all nice and was literally right across the road from Kyoto station.
The rooms are very small, which was very standard for a Japanese hotel but with large luggage it was a struggle.
