Filinona B&B

We stayed at Filinova for 4 nights and were extremely happy. It has three guest rooms, is situated on a quiet residential road moments from the Noto’s main street. Originally our hostess Corrada’s family home, it has been completely restored and is now modern, peaceful, atmospheric and a joy to stay in. Our room (room 3) was large, extremely well equipped, and quiet. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, as would be the norm in UK accommodation, but even better than that, there is a good coffee machine and kettle, together with milk, water, biscuits etc available for use at any time in the kitchen/dining room where breakfast is served. There is space in the fridge for one’s own use and a large bottle of fizzy and still water per room are provided each day. Speaking of breakfast, Corrada lays out a fulsome Sicilian style spread with cornettos, cheese, eggs, bread, Modica chocolate, fruit etc etc. The room itself is delightful. Corrada herself in an important aspect of Filinona. She has thought of pretty much everything anyone could need, and provided it. She has an office at the front door where she is most mornings and is always available for advice. She is a lovely hostess.

Because this is a review and because reviews are supposed to be balanced, I have been trying to think of something that wasn’t quite right and honestly, I can’t. The best I could come up with was that it would have been nice to have a couple of hooks in the bathroom to hang clothes on before showering. There is a music school just behind the house in which the town band (or one or two members) practice for a couple of hours on Friday and at times over the weekend. I’m very noise sensitive and this didn’t bother me. If you’re thinking of staying here and would mind that, there’s a room at the front. Just don’t let it decide you against staying in Filinova, because it’s a lovely experience.

Wonderful host! So kind and accommodating. The hotel was very clean. Our room had a huge bathroom. Very nice breakfast arrangement. Absolute must stay.

We had a fantastic stay at Filinona! Corrada was an exceptional host, sharing lots of wonderful recommendations for places to eat and drink and even making a reservation for us. The breakfast was amazing, so tasty and a huge variety of options to choose from. It’s clear that Corrada has put so much care and pride into the B&B. Our room was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, and the location was perfect- just a five-minute walk from the centre of Noto, with free street parking right outside. We highly recommend staying at Filinona and would absolutely stay here again!
