The staff were lovely and friendly, making my daughter feel very much at home. It was a pleasure to witness such warmth and hospitality.
The property appears tired and outdated, lacking the expected five-star ambiance. There was no conditioner provided in the bathrooms, and the rooms lacked adequate moisture. The décor in the rooms is old and in need of renewal. Breakfast, from a British perspective, was disappointing, though the fresh fruit was excellent. The orange juice, however, was poor in quality and overly sweetened.

Fantastic location within the old town area of Funchal. Rooms were a great size, felt very spacious and loved having a balcony. There were plenty of choices between hot food/continental options for breakfast.
The temperature of the pool could’ve been warmer.

Good breakfast, pleasant and willing staff, good security for lift use.
Good taxi services nearby.
Lack of tourist information and walking guides for nearby attractions.
Lack of lounge atmosphere with repeated attendance wait.
Annoying background music throughout hotel including room.
Location not as close to center as expected.
