Hotel Luze Boutique San Sebastian

Location and grounds were stunning

It is expensive but also very special

The most comfortable bed I have ever slept in (in a hotel!) The staff were very friendly and professional. Check in was smooth and although we were an hour early, our room was ready so we were allowed straight in. A lovely dog bed and biscuits were provided for our small dog, a nice touch. Plenty of on site parking.

Drinks and meals could not be charged to your final bill, everything had to be paid for at the time. We ate dinner in the Bistro(a marquee on the side of the hotel), the food was delicious and the service very good, but the place itself was cold, (the weather was wet and squally outside which I appreciate cannot be helped). There were only four other tables occupied and therefore it lacked any atmosphere, not somewhere you wanted to linger after a nice dinner. We couldn’t go to the bar as we had the dog with us(fair enough) so we just had to go back to our room. Thank god the bed was so comfy! Breakfast was €30 per person extra, which I found excessive, needless to say we didn’t bother and ate elsewhere.

Absolute beauty and much attention to detail. Beautiful infinity pool, very luxurious

Hotel and grounds look very classy. Pool was amazing. Staff were very helpful when needed.

Cost of stay was outrageous! Expected far more for the money we spent. To charge €50 for the use of the spar for one hour was shocking. Bar closes at 10pm which I'm afraid is unacceptable. Bar area very dull and uncomfortable. Staff need to show a bit more personality. Restaurant menu looked like the hotel was trying a bit too hard to stand up to its 1 Mitchlin star but the hotel had 2 x Restaurants so felt 1 could have had a more varied menu. Chef also needs to listen to requests of guests how they like there steak cooked. Happened twice.
