Hotel du Pin Nice Port by Soniho

Really good location for boarding a cruise at the adjacent harbour. Also surrounded by decent bars and restaurants and the only a short walk to the old town.

Fairly basic rooms but had what you needed.

I was a bit worried at first because of the negative reviews, but in the end, I'm really glad I chose this place. The location is excellent—it was great to walk around the old town in the evening. The area is lovely, and we felt completely safe. There are plenty of small restaurants and bars nearby, and Garibaldi Square is just a few minutes away. The bar located right below the hotel is also very pleasant, and the draft beers are exceptionally good. We had a street-facing window, but the noise didn't bother us at all. While the room is on the smaller side, it is extremely clean. It is just the right size for a stay of a few days. I wouldn't choose this accommodation for a trip lasting several weeks, but for a short getaway, I would definitely return.

The coffee at breakfast. It would have been much better if they used a bean-to-cup machine. The current machine uses instant powder, and you can definitely taste the difference. There were also no fresh vegetables at breakfast, which I really missed.

It’s was quiet during the night, air con was a bonus and we did make use of it even in September. Location was terrific and near to the port and a short walk to the beach etc. plenty of places to eat nearby. It would have been nice to have separate shower gel and shampoos, lotions etc in the bathroom instead of an all in one product but this is just a minor gripe.

Breakfast was a big disappointment. The coffee in the machine was nice but there wasn’t one day out of the five that we didn’t have to chase up cups, plates etc. there definitely weren’t enough to meet demand. Lack of choice of fruit etc. all of the 5 mornings there were apples and oranges in a bowl. Nothing chopped or ready prepared. I asked for banana but there weren’t any. Eggs needed to be boiled yourself in a boiler gadget but no method of timing them etc. I saw lots of guests with uneaten undercooked eggs on the plate. The toaster only toasted one slice of bread at a time and took ages. There was one day with little hot dog type sausages on the hot plate and streaky oily bacon on the other days. There was some cooked ham or chicken and coleslaw every day under a covered hot plate type thing - who eats coleslaw for breakfast? The croissants were nice and there was pain au chocolat also which were nice enough. Only 2 choice of cereal - muesli and a chocolate type crisp cereal. There was apple juice and orange which was the concentrated kind and too concentrated. Some ready prepared chopped fruit salad and cooked or scrambled eggs maybe would be welcome and a better toaster. I appreciate they are serving a multi cultural client group but I don’t think that would be too much trouble.

The location was good.
