Great Southern Hotel Brisbane

It was clean and close to everything

No kettle or mini fridge

Very close to the BCEC, nice big room, friendly staff and no issues happened over my stay. Very good value for money.

The hotel is reasonably priced for a city centre hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and the ensuite bathroom was bright and modern.

The decor and bedclothes were a bit drab and dated. There were building works going on in the hotel during our stay, which might have been nice to know about in advance. There was a lot of building dust in our corridor and some loud noises early in the morning.

Good location

Checkin staff was quite rude, I’d gone in early to try and get an early check in (as was posted as available on their website) explained that I had only had an hours sleep as I’d ended up in the emergency exit aisle, nice person at the beginning when I first went in said come back at 12, should be a room ready by then. Went back at 12 and was told no. He told me well if you come back at two it will definitely be ready! Very sarcastic 😒 I explained again why I was trying to get in early because by this point I was concerned to actually be walking around with such little sleep. Was close to tears and he eventually said okay and gave me a room. Staying for three nights, the electronic key only worked for the first night! And the shower barely had any water pressure. I’m sure both of those things were just coincidences though…
