Wyndham Hotel Melbourne

Fab location , on tram line and close to two CBD train stations. Lovely heated rooftop pool and some quiet spaces like a library and outdoor seating area. Well priced and very well set up for 2 friends or a family with rooms apart . Loved having a washer and dryer in apartment. A bonus when traveling.

Only real downside was lack of towel rails. For an apartment accomodating four people there was only one towel hook in bathroom and no other obvious places to hang them to dry and reuse

Central location - we could walk to QV market, Melbourne Central shopping area and CBD but it was also very easy to catch the free trams nearby. Apartment had 2 bedrooms plus 2 bathrooms (great when you are travelling with teens). Kitchenette area too. Comfy beds and pillows. Air con and heat pump/AC unit. Didn't hear any noise from surrounding apartments. Rooftop pool was nice to cool off in. Staff were friendly and left a birthday note and large bottle of soft drink for my teen whose birthday it was - thank you.

Note that there is a large, frosted glass pane on the side of the 2nd bedroom looking into the lounge. Great in the day as it let light into that bedroom. However, at night if you had the lights on or TV on, then it lit up the bedroom. It was fine for our teens but if you have young children who go to bed earlier then it may distract them if they are used to a dark bedroom.

No windows in the bedrooms. The terrible smell from the floor waste in the shower (the floor waste pipe is visibly dirty)
