The Morecambe Hotel

Location. Staff friendliness. Evening meal was excellent.

The old windows let in a lot of noise. Not great especially as it’s near the police station!

The room was very spacious and the breakfast was excellent.

Parking was not ideal. Towels a bit on the small side. EV Charger shown in photo gallery was not obvious, in fact I didn't find it.

Really modern decor, my room (Swain) was very well maintained with modern facilities, charging point on wall sockets. The bed was comfortable and beautifully presented. The bathroom was a shower room in its entirety and the taps were fast flowing and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was delicious, made to order and presented with a smile and overwhelming courtesy, nothing was too much trouble.

The parking was not straightforward, there is no on site carpark but there is a nearby public car park (£9.00 24 hr). The hotel rooms are an add on to a pub below so there is no direct access to the hotel so check in was over the pub bar. There is no lift eitger but there are 3 floors so may be a problem to some guests (not is though). Out of hours access is tedious but is available, we were not advised of how this worked so we worked it out ourselves.

I liked the space provided in the suite I booked and that I could regulate my own temperature for the room.

Bathroom: door did not close properly easily rectified with easing of the bottom of the door. Floor of bathroom not clean, I saw some white fluff around the edge of the floor and wiped it with a baby wipe - baby wipe was black. Tried also other areas of floor which were not clean. Most urgent and important is that there is no grab rail on the wall inside the bath - very dangerous trying to negotiate a shower and trying to get out - you need this installing on all your showers - my friend couldn't use his 'wet room' shower as nothing to hold onto. Cleaning overall of room and hotel not really up to standard.
