The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong

The location is excellent, close to Shanghai’s main attractions and directly connected to a very luxurious mall, with several other malls nearby offering plenty of restaurants and different experiences. The hotel facilities are modern and impressive, but what stood out most was the service. From the moment we entered, we felt that the team wanted to make our stay as comfortable as possible. A special thanks to Ashin from the reception team, who welcomed us warmly, made everything easy, and did everything possible to improve our experience. The laundry service was excellent and fast, and the in-room dining was reasonably priced, although the menu was somewhat limited. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and I would definitely return.

Upon arrival, we were required to provide a security deposit equivalent to around 50% of the total booking value, despite having already paid for our stay in full. I explained that I preferred to pay for any additional services as I used them rather than having such a large amount held, but the deposit was still required. After checkout, I requested its release, and it took around five working days for the funds to be returned. This was the only aspect of the experience that I found inconvenient.
