Hostel Malti Budget

Despite its distance from local amenities, the hostel's location remained highly scenic.

The room and toilets do not meet expected standards. The beds are poorly positioned, and the toilets and showers are not adequately cleaned.

The hostel is very central, just 5 minutes from Spinola Bay which is a very touristic and lively area. The common area on ground floor is not bad and there are friendly people although there’s no A/C. The receptionist is lovely and very helpful although he is only there for few hours a day. The facility is alright, there is what it’s needed and what is expected from a budget hostel.

The bedrooom are kinda gloomy and dark, the bed has a curtain for privacy but it can get crazy hot as the A/C is turned on after a set time. i was on the upper bunk bed and the height is scary, the ladder is pretty uncomfortable. i think the safety of the luggage is the most worrying, cause the keys to the lockers… have something I don’t want to talk about to protect the guests. Bring your own lock!

It was in a good location, not too far from surrounding places but quietly tucked away. Quite a steep hill though so be prepared to walk a bit for anywhere you go

I booked it specifically for the jacuzzi and they didn’t turn it on the whole time of my stay which was 5 nights. They said the maintenance man will fix but nothing. The wifi also was only in the common area downstairs. There was wifi on the second level but it didn’t work. They also said the maintenance guy will fix but never did. I extended my stay but only because it was the cheapest option. The receptionist was nice enough but didn’t really seem to care to help. Reception and the hot tub are only during specific hours which is strange. Had to help many people because no one was there. The shower and toilet are absolutely tiny and too small. Bed was okay size but mattress had wire or something poking out of it. Also a lot of older men staying here rather than social so if you are a solo female traveller like me, just be careful!
