Abbey Hotel

Spotless room and lovely receptionist on checkin.

Very cold room on check in. No full length mirror (I had to stand on a chair) On arrival there was a drunk sitting outside. Popped back to the car and another drunk was going into the hotel. Felt very unsafe.

Staff were nice

Fridge didn’t get cold at all and WiFi didn’t work at all which made using the laptop hard

Close to the park, reasonable price, clean and comfortable.

Very hot, small room and limited hours parking nearby, no onsite parking.

The room had a decent enough bed, enough storage around to be useful and a functional shower. Access to the building was easy and it was quiet for sleeping. It provided a room to sleep in, which is what I was after for the price point. The staff were lovely, even being able to help with an issue I was having on checking in.

There was a broken wall mounted light over the bed, which unfortunately had exposed wiring. I paid extra for a window with the intention of leaving the curtains slightly so that natural light could wake me, however the window faced into a glass corridor in the hotel, making privacy an issue. The room was not cleaned to a high standard (although it was not filthy). As a side note, the food place underneath although not associated directly with the hotel was disgusting and was the only place to get hot food without going into the city proper.
