Hotel Le Postillon

I have stayed here previously so know what to expect, location is the key attractions, located at the base of the Castle ruins round tower in this stunning village, but it is also a decent size if you are booking for a group, and it is not expensive. The Hotel looks good inside and out, not modern, but very clean with spacious and comfortable rooms, a garage for cycles and motorcyles, although we left our Motorcycles outside one night as we were not leaving early and did not want to block others - this is clearly not a high crime area and the bikes were all as we left them the following morning. The food from the Restaurant is good value, and the breakfast selection is typical continental affair and also good, which is handy as there is not much else in the village in the evenings except another Hotel, which we did not try and a fast food place has sprung up - no thanks! By day there are a number of Cafe's and a gift shop, it can get quite busy with day trippers of all varieties, especially at weekends where it can be flooded with cyclists, hikers and motorcyclists, walking up to the Castle ruins is worth the effort, if you only want to huff and puff the once then there is a lot more around the square tower accessible by the steps next to the church.

I do not like compaining when really there is nothing to complain about, the rooms might benefit from modernization, built in USB charging points, more modern lighting etc. but nothing actually wrong with them, and I could not see a hair dryer - only noticed as one of my bike gloves could of done with a quick blast to dry it off after eain earlier on the first day.

Good european breakfast. Fantastic location.

WiFi only worked the last 2 days there.

When we entered the room, it smelled clean. The location of the hotel is good.

The breakfast was upsetting. Juice machine and the toaster dis not work. There were no eggs available half an hour before closing the buffet, the staff mentioned “they ran out” and did not offer to make more. There was a very limited selection of food overall. No lactose free milk alternative, no gluten free bread. No opportunity to warm the bread. Among the toiletries, only a few bottles of shower gel and a few small soap bars. The door to the toilet (in the room) is made of glass and half transparent, leaving no privacy for the person in the toilet.
