Fac & Spera -Hôtel & Spa

The room was fresh and quiet, with good quality bedding and towels. Breakfast was good, with pastries, jams and smoked salmon getting extra stars. Parking was great, in an easily accessible inner yard. Reception staff was very friendly and professional. The town itself (Tain l'Hermitage) and the one right across the river (Tournon sur Rhone) are beautiful with historical landmarks and famous vineyards. Not to forget the Valrhona chocolate factory.

We were tired from the road, and booked the restaurant for the evening. This turned out not to be a good idea, because we arrived, we were showed to a table and left there for 20 minutes without anybody from the staff coming to take the order. At the end of the 20 minutes we noticed that people at the table next to us, who arrived right after us, were already being served the first course and we stood up to leave, at which point one staff came and said that he was just coming to take the order, which we found ridiculous. We left and didn't regret it, and concluded that the minimum for the staff would have been to start with excuses. The hotel has a spa and it offers 30 min free access to it, which we didn't use, as we found insufficient. We are aware that in France offering free time-limited access to the hotel's spa is a common practice and are aware there may be a cultural component to it, nevertheless we didn't like that it was only 30 minutes and decided not to use it. We booked the hotel at the last minute on a road trip, so the main reason booking this particular hotel was not the fact that it had a spa, but we would have used it if free access was at least 1 hour. The shower corner in the room would benefit from being closed, as it was impossible to shower without flooding the room.

Loved the modern interior of the hotel. Good sized room with balcony overlooking the pool. Great to have the lovely pool in the heatwave. The central location of the hotel was excellent, restaurants and shops close by.

Parking, Pool, terrace. Size of the suite offers enough room for a family of 4. Breakfast was good for a fair prize. We recommend the hotel but not the restaurant.

Many things all around the hotel are a little damaged and need a refresh. To sell wine bottles passing easily 500€ and to prepare dry aged meat you need an appropriate staff. Waiting for over 30 minutes for apéro… We
