Alex Hotel & Spa

Quirky once inside, loved the two courtyards. Spacious room with traditional shutters overlooking the paved garden area. The staff, particularly the young man on the desk in the late afternoon/evening, were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good.

Reception could do with a facelift and the spa area was very dark!

Great location, the staff was extremely welcoming and kind, the design of the hotel is cute and well thought, it is a pleasure to look at the shared areas. The rooms are confortable and well equipped.

Convenient location near station

I did not realize that it was so close to the station and metro. A bonus. The males on reception were helpful. Having 2 bottles of water in my room each day was a bonus. The bed and pillows were comfy.

The 2 women on reception were rude and unhelpful. They didn't acknowledge or care that I was there. I was charged city tax for 2 by one of them.. I am a single traveller and she wouldn't give me a refund. I asked the other one on my arrival how to get down to the marina.. she said "just walk down the street" no map or directions given or actually told to use the metro which was easy,cheap and right there...The coffee and tea supplies and paper cups were not topped up each day. I was there 5 nights. At night I could here people fighting, shouting and dogs barking as my room backed onto a small street. This woke me up several times. I had to get 2 lifts, walk a distance and up and down 6 stairs with my luggage on arrival and when I left. My room was not easily accessible. Would not recommend unless you want to be by the rail, metro and bus station, then it's fantastic! A really small room and bathroom.
