La Pipistrelle Hotel

Beautifully renovated historical building with stylish rooms and warm welcome by the receptionist. Small B+B with few rooms in a historical part of Luxembourg city with gastronomy and sights in walking distance. The decoration and small details are lovely, kettle and coffee machine in the room, the place is very clean and in a quiet area of the lower city.

I had the room on the 4th floor and would not have booked this accommodation had I known before about the difficult access. The rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor are accessible only by a steep winding staircase. There is not handrail and the staircase is "see through", frightening for someone like me with fear of heights. Luckily I stayed only for one day and was helped by the kind and helpful receptionist with my luggage. Reception is not staffed after 16 hours, so be aware you will receive an entry code for self-service if you arrive later. Although the host informed my by email that my room is on the 4th floor without lift, the unsafe winding staircase was not mentioned. Actually, I was surprised that the Luxembourg authorities do not insist on handrail, the staircase is also the emergency exist. The sanitary block was integrated in my room, including the toilet (!!!!) without a door. The comfort of the guests was sacrificed on the altar of modern design. The bathtub is under the mansarde roof, i.e. it is not possible to have a shower.

The hostess was so delightful. The breakfast she prepared was delicious. The rooms were huge, attractive and very well appointed. Location ideal.

Amazing boutique hotel that checks all the boxes for what an boutique hotel should be.
