This is probably the nicest place I have ever stayed in my life. I have stayed at many ryokan before and this is a step above all of them. The only issue you may have is a more modern aesthetic vs a more "traditional" rustic one. The private onsen are INSANE, breathtaking. The meals, served in room, were some of the best food I have ever had in Japan and I have been going since 2009. The Hokkawa onsen area is picturesque and the oceanside drive is scenic and amazing. This is a top tier ryokan that has redefined my idea of how good things can get.
I cannot think of a single thing that would have made my experience better. Selfishly, I guess if the server spoke more English?
The price is a bit high in a vacuum, but for what you are getting it is 100% fair.

The staff were exceptionally warm and attentive, and the service was truly outstanding - Japanese hospitality at its finest. I visited with my mom, and having grown up in Tokyo and stayed at many ryokans over the years, this one easily ranks among the very best.
Nothing at all, except that I wish my stay could have been longer.

Atmosphäre, heruntergekommene Umgebung, Personal war teilweise übertrieben freundlich, teilweise unfreundlich
