Mercure Hull Grange Park Hotel

The room was fine, and exceptionally clean-the bed very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep.

There was nothing we didn't like but I do wish hoteliers paid as much attention to the comfort of pillows as they do to the comfort of the mattresses. Also quite a difficult place to find as the sat nav only took us to the entrance of a shopping centre.

Good location and facilities

Bar is a bit expensive!

I have stayed at this property 6 times in the last 30 years and its tucked away but very central. The hotel is spacious, excellent bar, restaurant and perfect for our social pet dog. There is ample space to exercise both the dog and ourselves in great laid out areas. I liked the feel of the place and its uncompromising quality. The drinks are well priced and the restaurant food ideally matched. The steak and ale pie was very good, the fish and chips excellent and the Aberdeen Angus burger brilliant. Breakfast was well up to the standards of the more expensive hotels, but this hotel had the most superb coffee and tea choices as well as breakfast choices. Our dog was made most welcome and that is important, we were not charge excessively for her stay.

Nothing it was perfect for us as we had to come to the area to see an relative who had been in hospital and drove from Kent to the area and back in 24 hours.

Rooms were what was expected, toiletries were good. Staff very helpful.

Disappointed that the decor outwith the room needed updating. Worn and flaking paint, damaged doors and rust in and around the pool area. Facilities (pool, jacuzzi, lockers and changing rooms) were disappointing - could be excellent if paint work updated and rust addresses and given thorough clean.
