Torre Don Virgilio Country Hotel

The property was in the middle of the countryside so was very quiet. The facilities were very good, the rooms very comfortable. We were able to swim in the outdoor pool in October as the weather was still warm. The food at the restaurant was fantastic, and there was an awesome selection of wines available. All the staff were wonderful, very welcoming, knowledgable, kind and helpful.

Only downside that may be relevant was that you would need to have a car to get to nearby towns as not sure about the local public transport links. Large onsite car park available.

The location is out in the countryside so nice and peaceful. Plenty of space. The team was outstanding. Every single staff member was superbly helpful, friendly and professional. The buffet breakfast, served in the courtyard was amazing and based on that, we found ourselves also eating in the hotel restaurant every night. The dining room is very stylish and the food is fabulous as well as being good value. The pool area was also a really nice place to relax. And our room was splendid - high ceilings and minimal furniture made us feel like we were staying in a castle. With the shutters closed at night, the room was dark and silent, we slept so well in the enormous and comfortable bed. The location of the hotel makes it easy to visit Syracuse, Noto and Modeca as well as some beautiful soft, sandy beaches. We loved it.

It was perfect for an early October getaway. No need to change anything.

Room shower was a little small. Breakfast could have been varied but was very good. TV was impossible.

The airco in our room was not working properly, but fortunately it was not very hot
