The old part of the hotel is gorgeous. Stunning grounds and location perfect to get into Coimbra. Staff at breakfast very friendly.
Some staff not as friendly. The pools were not open all the time which was frustrating. The Turkish bath was not working either. Cleaners left lots of their trollies and equipment in front of rooms and difficult to negotiate

This was a wonderful oasis in a busy city, far enough away to be quiet and residential but we could still walk to the city centre.

Very helpful and friendly staff. The room was spacious and the facilities comfortable.
The rooms were quite tired, with chipped furniture and old carpets and fittings. Although there are some beautiful common areas they are not used for the hotel restaurant and bar which are in quite tired, corporate looking rooms. The restaurant has a nice area with views to the garden but it only fitted tables of 2. The location was also a little inconvenient, being a 15 minute walk along busy roads, from the city centre.
