Honestly everything was great from the stuff to breakfast to restaurant. Rooms was spacious very clean, beautiful view. Would definitely stay again when we are in town. Thank you!

Bogolyvar Fogado is a very unique hotel in the world. It is located on top of a hill with spectaclar views. The hotel has been designed with love, imagination and care. The rooms and the entire hotel is decorated with traditional embroideries, beautiful poterry and antique photographs of Pecs. The hotel has a lovely dining room with a wide variety of delicious and home-made delicacies, including homemade cheese and marmalades. There is also a very large seperate restaurant with beautiful architectural designs. I arrived on New Yearr´s Eve and almost everything was closed but the owner´s son gave me a delicious complimentary salad. They were also very nice in upgrading my room from a single to a double room. The new room was very spacious, had a bathtub and also had beautiful emboideries on the wall. It was like staying in a museum and helped me learn and appreciate how talented and artistic is Hungarian culture. There is a bus at the bottom of the hill that takes you into town. However, the walk is lovely and it is next to a beautiful historical park. The owner´s mother was very sweet and kind to me and also recommended the porcelain museumss which were the best museums I visited. I enjoyed my stay in Pecs and highly recommend both the hotel and the city to anyone wanting to visit Hungary. The only recommendation I make to the hotel is as a vegetarian, I would have eaten more regularly at their restaurant had there been some more salad or vegetable dishes. Other than that, I think Pension Bogolyvar Fogado is an outstanding place to stay.

I wish, I could have stayed a few more days and enjoyed the hotel facillities and the city of Pecs. It is a very nice place to stay, rest, enjoy the lovely atmosphere and the park nearbye. The park is an old fortress and it is quite a nice place to simply walk around. The walk into the city is also very pleasant and one can get a good feel of the historical vilas and old Hungarian architecture. Pecs is definitely worth visiting and I would say I loved this city for it´s artistic heritage. The weather is also very nice and it is a great introduction to Hungarian culture. Next time, I will invest some time in learning this beautiful and challenging language. Thank you again to all the staff at Bagolyvar Fogado for giving me a great stay in your hotel.

This is literally a dream hotel. Very clean, very organized and the staff was beyond amazing. Breakfast is very tasteful and the hotel atmosphere is what you would hope from a mountain like accommodation. Highly recommended.

Nice and quiet location just one step away from woods and mountains where one can hike to the tv tower, the zoo, old ruins and much more and enjoy great views at the same time. The breakfast was really amazing with all types of meals to choose from and the restaurant opposite the hotel is simply superb too. They accept dogs and free parking is also available.

The room didn't have proper shower. It had a bath with an attached showerhead which was unusable.

The location is perfect and there is a breathtaking view from the balcony. Breakfast was amazing and the staff so helpfull, polite and keen to satisfy all the requests of the guests. Restaurant next door has very good kitchen.

Everything was great! The onsite restaurant makes excellent meals.

Parking a little tight…

The panoramic view is a particular advantage. It's wonderful from the room window, the breakfast terrace and the restaurant. It is located on the outskirts of the city, a 1-2 minute walk to the forest. Nevertheless, you can reach the city centre in about 10-12 minutes on foot. True, the walk back is quite steep. But it is worth it!

the washbasin and bath were both full of long hairs from the previous guest. As we both have short hair, we have reservations about cleaning the bathroom. No shower cubicle. There is a bath without curtains. After bathing, the bathroom turns into a "swimming pool", but no drain. no blackout, no curtains or blinds on the windows. So at 4am you are woken up by the rays of the rising sun. This is nice, but it ruins your sleep.

Breakfast was excellent, very good wifi and the room was clean with great nature all around.

Hotel is on a hill. Access impossible if you come with a van, be ready to park below the hill. Streets are narrow and steep, with cars parked on the road. But normal passenger cars can access alright.

Good value for money and great view to town.
