view was fantastic, the estate is beautiful. the room was trendy, and the terrace was unreal. we wanted our own balcony so one can sit outside and read, but this was a very large terrace we didnt expect. windows were great. bathroom was nice. pool was lovely.

The location is fantastic, with beautiful views. The rooms are quirky, comfortable and full of character, while the dining area and chapel are particularly impressive. I would happily return to this property just for a meal, as I found the food both delicious and really interesting. Overall, it’s a lovely place with a unique atmosphere and plenty of charm.

Unfortunately, I felt a little let down by my stay, particularly as the previous reviews had set my expectations quite high. I arrived around 15 minutes before the official 3pm check-in time and didn’t feel particularly welcomed. I appreciate that the room wasn’t ready, but when I asked whether we could have a drink or a snack by the pool while we waited, it seemed to be more of an inconvenience than something the team could accommodate. There were also a few issues with the room. The shower head wasn’t working properly and the fridge was very noisy, so much so that I unplugged it during the night. More generally, I found the service to be quite hands-off and often had to go looking for staff when I needed something. The biggest disappointment for me, however, was the noise from the staff. This is such a beautiful and peaceful setting, and I felt that the atmosphere was unfortunately disrupted by the team themselves. Before dinner service, staff were sitting on the terrace having their pre-service meal which I am all for but they were talking quite loudly, and the chef was having a loud video call. Throughout the evening, we could also hear staff calling to each other in the kitchen and speaking loudly. Coming from a hospitality background myself, I found this particularly noticeable and felt that it took away from what should have been a very tranquil experience. Breakfast was fairly average and didn’t offer anything particularly memorable. The pool area was also a little disappointing, although still perfectly adequate. I had to remove quite a few wasps from the pool so that my daughter could swim comfortably. The property itself is beautiful, with a fantastic location, lovely views and lots of character, and I really enjoyed the food in the restaurant. Perhaps I simply had very high expectations after reading such positive reviews, but overall I left feeling that the experience didn’t quite live up to the potential of the property.

Amazing location and beautiful house (albeit decorated with very questionable artwork) - if you’re drawn to nature and the mountains it’s an exceptional spot for walks, runs, cycle rides etc. The nearby village of Esporles is really charming and not overrun by tourists, and you’re at a good proximity to excellent restaurants in Valdemossa and Deia. Also easy access from the airport. When compared with prices for hotels elsewhere in Mallorca it’s on the more reasonable side, however I still think the price is very inflated for what the hotel offers. The ownership will doubtless say that’s the market, but I think if their prices were more in line with what this is - a glorified BnB - this review would be much more forgiving.

Service: This is probably what’s most in need of improvement at this hotel. For example, my husband and I arrived with two heavy suitcases. The owner offered to show us to our room which was 2 flights of stairs up, expecting us to haul our bags up until we admitted defeat and asked if there was someone around to help us. The rooms are not cleaned everyday unless you specifically request it. The carpark was full every evening when we returned from dinner and we had to drive back down the winding road to leave our car off the side of the road - never were we offered an alternative. At no point were we offered recommendations or suggestions for our stay by the hotel, nor was there any information about the area proffered or left in our rooms, despite being in a rural area off the tourist trail. On our third night, we were awoken at 9am in bed by knocking on the door and I had to open the door in my pyjamas to a caretaker who said he needed to fix something in the bathroom. At no point had we requested this nor had we been informed by the hotel that somebody needed to come to fix something in the morning, which would have been the courteous way to deal with the problem. A short while later as I was changing to shower the door went again and immediately the caretaker started unlocking the door to enter, I jumped into the bathroom and asked him to leave. When my husband reported this to the owner she laughed and said that he had to leave as he was only scheduled to be there for the early morning so he was in a rush and there was a leak in the bathroom that needed fixing. When I later told her I was disappointed by the way this had been handled, and at the very least we should have been forewarned, she proceeded to report the incident to the rest of the staff in full earshot of the whole breakfast terrace (including us). We were then offered €40 off a meal at the restaurant.
