When entering the Riad you are immediately made aware of the intricate details the owners have painstakingly searched and added to the location. I felt I was taken back in time to a timeless relationship romantic French influenced Moroccan luxury hotel, with ever smiling staff. We enjoyed every minute spent in the Riad.

What a wonderful and special place. Riad Le Calife is an attraction in itself., like stepping back into a more opulent time. Our hosts Alex and Yasmin are so passionate about ensuring their guest have the best experience in Fez and the staff are attentive and can’t do enough to make you feel at home. We have stayed in many luxurious places around the world and this is diffidently in the top 5. We can’t recommend enough. We will be returning. C’est tres magnifique.

Riad Le Calife was like entering a museum in the Medina .it is stunningly beautiful full of Moroccan art and decor .The owners Jasmine and Alex could not be more helpful in making your stay exactly how you wish it to be . The rooftop breakfast area is a treat and allows you to view the whole Medina. The guide organized for us by Alex was first class. Knowledge, funny and energetic.

I liked everything about Riad Le Califfe.

The overall experience was fabulous. The owner Yasmine is the reason people go back to a place, because it feels like home away home except all things are taken care of. She has intimate knowledge of the medina and allows you to have a carefree and relaxing stay. The riad is decorated impeccably and is perfect for those looking for a little something extra, a cabinet of curiosities of sort, a home museum all in one. Good for creative types and perfectly situated. We were actually staying at Karawan next door and my family but we wished we had decided to book with them instead. Thank you for a wonderful way to discover the city of my ancestors for the first time. Zohar and Sam Benjelloun (and Henia, Ada, Noam and Khadija too!)

This hotel was the best on the trip, as might be expected from all the other exceptional reviews. We found ourselves craving it once we left for other cities. The food was excellent, the staff incredibly helpful. I would recommend this riad to anybody.

The recommended restaurants were not good. I would not go to them. Though they swear there is no commission involved, the food was still terrible. Book your own restaurants or just go to a local place.

Breakfast was consistently delicious, served fresh and hot by attentive staff. The restaurant area is delightfully well-lit with a charming view of the Medina. Alex and Yasmine have a tremendous team, entirely focused on making sure that the guest has everything they need...

Alex and Yasmine spared no possible effort to ensure that we were comfortable and that our every need was anticipated. My only concern for some mobility-challenged guests would be the stairs required to access the better rooms and the restaurant.

Overall room and riad design is a bit more eclectic that we like and we would prefer even more traditional style but that's very personal so not really a fault of the hotel

It is a beautiful Riad and everything has been really well considered, it feels calm and comfortable and stylish. Before we even arrived everything was done to ensure our stay was comfortable and we had such good advice and assistance from the owners. Great view from the terrace at breakfast and lovely fresh breads and pancakes.

My honey & I and another couple recently spent two lovely nights at the Riad Le Calife in Fes. I can’t say enough about this beautiful Riad, lovely hostess, Yasmine, and wonderful and attentive staff. We were warmly welcomed, sitting in the beautiful interior courtyard, with trees, birds, fountain, drinking delicious mint tea; indeed an oasis in the sprawl of the medina. The rooms were spacious, spotlessly clean, and very well appointed. Breakfast was delicious - coffee, tea, yogurt, breads/rolls/crepes, jams, honey, olives, and eggs. We also had a delicious dinner at the Riad. The Riad is well situated within the medina. We were directed to park outside the medina and were met by staff to assist with our luggage and directions to the Riad. Through Yasmine we set up a full day walking tour of the medina, which we would recommend to everyone. The medina is a maze, and with so much to see, it was excellent having a guide to introduce us to all the amazing architecture and artisans. Yasmine also recommended the restaurant at the Palais Faraj, delicious food in a very beautiful setting. If you are heading to Fes, we would highly recommend the Riad Le Calife.

Beautiful riad, rooms are lovely, roof top is amazing. Breakfast is delicious and the hospitality is fantastic - amazing recommendations, iced mint tea on the roof, help with everything you need.

the property is a beautifully restored 400 year-old riad. it has awesome city views from the terrace and is an oasis of peace in the heart of the medina.

The breakfast was good, a balance of local food, breads and more generic breakfast items. The Riad has been sensitively renovated and beautifully decorated with so many interesting and unusual items, a real treasure.

The shower had great pressure but had to be hand held as the fitting on the wall was for a different shower head.

This is an exceptional property owned and operated by exceptionally warm, welcoming, knowledgeable people. We enjoyed everything about our stay here: our suite was spacious and comfortable; the riad was (and is) beautifully appointed and well-run; the staff was exceptional; breakfast was delicious and plentiful; and, the owners were present and available with excellent suggestions re dining, transport, and things to do, helping us make the most of our time in Fes and Morocco. The warmth and hospitality at Le Calife are world-class. These are people for whom hospitality is an expression of love, people who enjoy connecting with their guests and sharing their love of the culture and beauty of Fes. Their kindness and advice are a large part of why we fell in love with Fes and plan to return. We have traveled extensively and been fortunate to have stayed at some truly exceptional places; Riad Le Calife is one of them.

I can think of no way our experience at Le Calife could have been better, other than had our stay been longer.

Richly decorated, warm guest house with lots of personal attention for guests. It felt like a complete experience, not just a place to stay. Architecturally, the hotel offers a garden patio like a traditional riad but the garden is unusually expansive and is completely open-air, so the riad offers many garden-facing windows, more in the European style. The riad’s photos cannot convey how luxurious the layout, furnishings, and woodwork are. Very quiet and a good place to stay put to enjoy a lounge and library. Hosts went overboard ensuring we made our way around Fes to events and that we reached the rail station on time. Very fine breakfasts with exceptional views. Better than most five-star hotels.

Air-conditioning can be a little faint in record-breaking heatwaves, but fine otherwise.

Amazing property with a friendly staff and owners. We really enjoyed our stay and when I return to Fez I would like to stay there again. Breakfast and dinner were great. The view is amazing from the terrace.
