Hotel & Mirador Los Apus

Very authentic and quirky, close to some great spots to see.

I loved all of it

The hotel is in a gorgeous old building with loads of character. The room was lovely and big, with a comfy bed. The staff were extremely helpful and kind and their warmth was a highlight. The location was perfect, really central but quiet. The reception is in a courtyard where breakfast is served which is a lovely space. The hotel is being painted at the moment but this was managed really carefully so my stay wasn’t disrupted.

Some features were less modern; water pressure in the shower wasn’t great, tiny hairdryer that kept cutting out, the courtyard is very cold with heaters. All of those things were minor and wouldn’t stop me recommending the hotel but might put others off. The room was dark which didn’t bother me because I wasn’t in much.

I loved my stay here so much I felt sad to leave. The staff were phenomenal. Always helpful and friendly. They are doing work on the property at the moment but the finished rooms are very nice. The decor is what you would expect for the price range. Very nice room. There was also TV with movie channels in English - in case you want a restful evening after a long day of hiking or site seeing.

Our fire alarm was triggered by a hot shower and we got a call and simultaneously knocking at the door whilst undressed being accused by staff of smoking in the room. I appreciate smoking in a hotel room is a serious offence however the smoke alarm is clearly improperly positioned/set up if a shower can set it off. The curtains on the window do not cover it properly and it leads out to the street so it lets light in and if someone was really trying they could see in. Doors & windows allowing a lot of sound in from all directions.
