Good location, close to the subway station. I travelled for work and didn’t have much time for sightseeing but seeing that it’s also close to a couple of temples, church and particularly the Imperial palace garden.

The breakfast price seems expensive and has limited choices.

In the booking it states that the rooms has air-conditioning, unfortunately it was not working or we weren’t able to use at the time of our stay.

The building, its near at the palace and the kyoto garden. Beside, its really cheap and I think its worth what you pay.

There was a fairly loud bgm track playing in the corridor for most of the day. Room was otherwise fine.

Cool place with unique key. It was so close to the imperial palace.

Bit far from everything else. Room was on the smaller side.

Nice facilities. Every was smooth.

A bit far from train stations - had to do quite a fair bit of walking to get around. There are some buses that stop nearby though

Great location right next to the National Garden. No issues with cleanliness or size.

Room was extremely hot upon entering, no way to adjust temperature of the heat (only the wind speed). You need to return the room key to the front desk anytime you leave the building.

People were always ready to help, front desk was open 24 hours a day.

I found it a bit strange that I had to leave my key at the reception when I went out, but I guess this has to do with their policy to now allow visitors in the rooms. Also, some employees did not speak much english, but they were still very friendly and one could always explain what one wants to do/have.

The location was excellent and close to many tourist attractions.

There was a lack of variety in restaurants nearby.

Great breakfast! There was a choice between Japanese and Western style sets, I chose the Japanese style and it was amazing. Also many different drink options available, with ice coffee being a huge bonus. Plus, the dining area has a beautiful view of a lush garden with a koi pond. The room was fantastic, very clean and comfortable, with powerful AC which was wonderful in the humidity of Kyoto. A comfy yukata was provided, along with multiple amenities such as a toothbrush, razor etc. The staff were super friendly! I only stayed one night so I didn't have a lot of interaction with them, but nonetheless everyone was so nice. The location was perfect for my needs. The hotel is easily accessible via the subway and city buses, although I took a taxi from Kyoto Station, which took about 10 minutes. All in all a great experience! For such an affordable price Kyoto Garden Palace really exceeded my expectations.
