Very nice and popular pub. Our room was very comfortable with a huge bed, armchair and basic but nice bathroom. Staff were very friendly and very efficient. Despite facing the road it was very quiet at night. Friendly atmosphere in the pub with many locals drinking and eating. Food was superb, with a nice menu beyond the normal pub classics. Beer was also excellent.
Nothing. We very much enjoyed our stay.

Lovely hotel, excellent location in a pretty village, interior decor was lovely and reflected the buildings character. Food exceptional, they catered for my gluten free diet as well. Room was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Bar was busy but service was slick. Staff all friendly and efficient. Breakfasts hearty and freshly cooked. Exceeded our expectations.
The only criticism we had was that we used the "directions" link in the Inn website which reverted to our usual Google Maps and this took us quite a few miles away from the Inn to near Seahouses, and had to drive 25 minutes back across the A1 to get there. Use the postcode not the website link!!

Stayed at Tankerville Arms previously and glad to see that it has maintained it's excellent standards. Warm welcome on arrival. Comfortable bedroom to relax in, great bar and first class restaurant with a superb choice of meals to suit all tastes. The beer garden is beautifully maintained. Best I've seen.
Staff are all really excellent and friendly too.
Wonderful breakfast in the morning to set you up for the day.
Couldn't fault anything. Got to be right up there as one of the best Inns in the country. Thank you guys for another lovely stay.
It was all wonderful tbh. One tiny thing that might be worth looking at is that for those not having a cooked breakfast, a range of pastries would be great as well as a bigger choice of cereal. (The berries and yoghurt to start were wonderful though).

Breakfast was perfect and you couldn’t ask for more. The staff were friendly, polite and attentive. The bar area was great, comfy and cosy, food selection of fraught drinks too.
