The hotel is in a great location and the staff is very nice. I did not get the opportunity to use the pool (rooftop) very nice..

The amenities were outdated including a lift that often closed on people as they were trying to get in. Also, we had booked 3 person room and a single room. During the middle of the night (3am) a staff member unlocked the door and entered the single room. It petrified the person staying in the room and they were unable to remain alone in the single room. When we asked the staff in the morning why they entered during the middle of the night they simply said “we thought the guest had left”. We didn’t get an apology once for the discomfort and fright that had been caused. They should have called the room to confirm instead of walking in during middle of the night.

i promissed to angelica from front desk i will wright about this stupidity of management , i travel alone , so they accepted this situation, i have single room but if i want to go hotel spiaggia i must payed two sun bed , it is a stupidity and the beach is empty ...... try understaining because i didnt..... marius

Great location and friendly, helpful staff. The rooms were big enough and as I had expected, dated but clean. We chose this hotel due to the location and it was great to stay there instead of being in the Cinque Terre. Portofino was very close.The beach was lovely. Santa Margherita was great and we would base ourselves in this location again. It was peak season being August so we expected the accommodation to be less value for money. We had drinks from the beach restaurant- the lady was friendly with great service. Breakfast was cheap at 5 euors per person.

You have to pay 50 euros for the beach chairs (although we had expected this reading other reviews) so it was not a shock. A bowl of ice delivered to our room was 5 euros. The buses and trains were a bit harder to get around than other cities. We expected that the hotel pool was average. They now take bookings each day to use the pool for one hour a day. When we got up there, there was no staff, no towels, no service. The pool was cold. The hedges are blocking the view to the beach from the sun beds. It would have been nice to have drinks up there or some sort or service. To be honest the pool was a waster of time and space and we cancelled our booking for the next day.
