Grotto Flora B&B Chambres de charme

I had dinner at the B&B, which offered a limited selection of set menus. The meal began with bread—although no butter—and an aperitivo featuring a variety of pickled vegetables. The house wine was a pleasant Merlot and very reasonably priced. The food was good, particularly for a B&B. My main course included a piece of beef and a piece of venison, both of which I ordered medium. The beef arrived rare—which suited me perfectly—while the venison was well done. I finished with tiramisu and a grappa, both of which were very enjoyable. Breakfast was simple and good. There was coffee, juice bread, butter, jam, ham, and cheese brought to the table with an offer to make eggs.

This typical Swiss “grotto,” with 100 years of history and four generations of innkeepers, isn’t just a place to stay when you’re in Lugano for a business trip or vacation—it’s an experience to be savored! Small details in the decor, an eye for the finer things. The staff is incredibly welcoming, courteous, and helpful. Comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast served in the garden. The restaurant is renowned throughout the region and offers simple yet excellent dishes! All this comes with exceptional value for money—hard to find in Switzerland. Very close to downtown Lugano (15 minutes by car). I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it: a 10 with honors—well done, Flora and Graziella! Thanks!
