Villa Corbezzolo - The heart of Cinque Terre

Villa Corbezzolo is the largest accommodation in the Cinque Terre, sleeping up to 14 guests.
It is an ancient manor house, typical of the Ligurian territory.
Expertly restored about 30 years ago by the architect Mirella Scalfaro, it has kept its charm intact: painted with natural pigments of a characteristic antique rose, entirely paved in slate (typical Ligurian stone), spacious and bright rooms, separated by stairways immersed in greenery.
Guests to the Villa will find a refined and exclusive environment, nevertheless characterized by the sort of warm environment that only a family-run establishment can offer.
IMPORTANT: Villa Corbezzolo is not suitable for elderly people or those with mobility issues; it is located in a hamlet of Vernazza in a wonderful spot with an incomparable view along the famous Blue Trail, but it is situated in a rural and remote area, with all the pros and cons that implies.
The villa is composed as follows: a ground floor with kitchen, breakfast - dining room, living room facing the sea and beautiful park, with outdoor area for dining and living.
On the first floor is located Olives Suites, on the second floor is located Panoramic Room, on the top of Villa.

In the Villa you will find antique furniture and authentic design pieces 50s and 60s of great vulue as the bedside tables of Kartell or the handles Boma-Olivari, the original Arco Lamp of Castiglioni, authentic works of modern art and many other curiosities.
Villa is located just on the Blue Path in halfway between Corniglia and Vernazza (2 km far both) in the highest spot at 208 meter above sea level.
The large property includes terraces, gardens, vineyard, vegetable garden with several idyllic spots to relax in absolute peace.
It is situated on a cliff that plunges into the sea, south-facing between Corniglia and Vernazza.
All around the house there are olive and fruits trees, vineyards and mediterranean plants.
The Villa has been renovated with taste and simplicity, trying to preserve as much as possible its historical roots.
The property includes a relaxing garden terrace overlooking the sea with outdoor dining area and a barbecue area with stunning views of Corniglia and Manarola.
The Guests will have in exclusive use the kitchen fully equipped, the large Fisherman Hall, the gardens and terraces.
ROOMS LAYOUT
In the Olive Suite there are 3 double rooms with 3 double beds and 2 double sofa bed (mattress length: 200 cm - width: 160 cm).
Panoramic Room have 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed (mattress length: 200 cm - width: 160 cm).
VERY IMPORTANT
NOT AIR-CONDITIONING (only fan in each room)
MOSQUITOS SPRAY
Like all around the Mediterranean coast, in the 5 Terre are found many insects such as mosquitoes, bees, wasps, sand flies etc. Therefore it is strongly recommended to apply insect repellents after sunset.
Please note that there aren't mosquitos screens in the rooms.
PARKING
To get to the Villa from our private parking you have to go down about 100 steps but don't worry, we help our Guests with them luggage for check-in and check-out.
HOT WATER
In our Villa hot water is supplied by 3 electric boilers with a capacity of 80 liters each one. As the electric boiler takes about 1.5 hours to heat the water, it is necessary to use hot water sparingly (short showers, open the hot water tap the minimum necessary, etc.).
If a guest uses a lot of hot water the other guests will have to wait about 1.5 hours before having more hot water.
ELECTRIC ENERGY
Our Villa has an electrical power of 5,2kw (the maximum allowed for a private home). If this limit is exceeded, the main switch is released and the electric power no longer works and the main switch must be switched on again.
Therefore electrical equipment must be used taking into account this limit.
Danger: do not use the electricy main switch with wet hands and barefoot.
Only adults can access to electricy main switch.
When the electricity consumption has exceeded the limit of more than 1 kw it is necessary to wait about an hour before electricy main switch can be switched on again.
EXAMPLE OF SIMULTANEOUS ELECTRICY CONSUMPTION
1 hairdryer consumes 2kw
3 boiler for hot water consumes 3kw
1 microwave consumes 1.8kw
Already these devices exceed the allowed limit, so remember to use them sparingly.
Until now no one has ever complained about these aspects because all our guests have given serious consideration to these instructions.
We invite you to do the same.
TIPS FOR NOT HAVING PROBLEMS WITH ELECTRICY
Limit the use of hot water to the minimum necessary
Between a shower and another it is better to wait 30 minutes
Do not use the hair dryer while other people are taking a shower
Do not use the electric oven or microwave while other people are taking a shower or using a hair dryer.

The house has an amazing view and is right on the Blue trail in between Corniglia and Vernazza - easy 30 min walk mostly downhill for both towns. The host was wonderful as would pick us up in Corniglia and drive us back at the end of the day and even in the morning as we had an older person with us who was not confident walking down the hill. The house is an oasis away from the crowds of Cinque Terre and at the end of they day its a wonderful place to relax and wake up. Our host was kind and helpful and really made it possible for us to enjoy the place. A few things to keep in mind. We were able to park our cars which is great but it is quite a walk down to the house and then back up to the cars. The house has a bit more wear and tear on it than I would have expected from the pictures but overall a wonderful place to stay especially with a larger group. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We enjoyed the charming old villa. There are a lot of steps and no air conditioning but the weather was lovely for us so the breezes kept us comfortable. Great for getting right on the trail and hiking. It is also nice to be out of the crowded little towns. Our communication with the manager was excellent.

Difficult access to the house from the road ( the sign is visible only from one direction, the turn is so steep that you cannot take it coming from Vernazza, you have to come from Corniglia)
Challenging parking: only two spots are for the house), if you have a third car it is difficult to find a spot ( in August )
The 108 steps to go from the parking place to the house
The fact that each level can be accessed only by the outside , so when it rains ( which happened two days during the week)you get soaked and the stairs are very slippery
No independent toilets and no toilet at the living room level (so when it rains….)
In the kitchen, the dishwasher and the toaster were out of service ( we informed the owner who did not mention if repair was planned ), we had to defrost the fridge that had so much ice that it could hardly be used
There are many flying insects and even with lotions we were beaten by mosquitos and had bugs every night. There is definitely a need for Screens at bedroom windows.
There was very limited information in the house re the area, the paths, and trails, the trains and boats, the market in the village…etc…
