Hotel Cardoso

Wonderful location, amazing views from the suite as well as from the main areas, lobby, garden and restaurant. The suite was stunning, the king size bed very comfortable, bathroom has bath and large shower, fully furnished with vanity amenity. The staff is professional and lovely, reception and housekeeping both impeccable. Great services: wi-fi worked perfectly, breakfast is delicious, bar serves great cocktail and the atmosphere is cozy. Will be back for sure!

Just one think: I don't find carpeting comfortable, and it is extremely difficult to keep spotless, even if they are trying really; I always prefer traditional wood flooring or beautiful tiling, whether contemporary or traditional. I suggest to update the suites furnishing together with their floors.

We wanted to spend a few relaxing days in Maputo. The Hotel Cardoso seemed just the place: a central location, great views, a lovely swimming pool and a nice garden to chill out in.

What we hadn’t reckoned on: there were events on both Friday and Saturday. The Friday evening concert ran from 5 pm to 9 pm, and on Saturday there was a wine fair from midday until 10 pm. Naturally, this meant the swimming pool and garden were out of the question. Worse still was the noise: soundchecks were already taking place at midday, making the walls shake. In the afternoon we were out and about in town. In the evening, the bass from the music was so penetrating that we fled the hotel and didn’t return until 10.30 pm. The clearly audible tidying-up work continued until midnight. Although we had specified a ‘quiet room’ as a customer request when booking, we were not informed about the events and there was no apology either.
