Location is really good for a stopover from the ferry-port in Portsmouth. Came back from France and was there in an hour. We stop over on the way down to the port also and find this works for us. The hotel /pub is in the heart of the Surrey hills and this is worth a visit alone. We have fond memories of Box hill as children which is close by and the views are stunning.

Nice garden to sit out in
First barmaid was not that friendly, burger was overcooked as was the sausages and bacon at breakfast which was disappointing. Room was not made up at all in the morning so we had to ask for milk, teabag replacement which they did willingly.
