Grand Hotel Continental

La camera quadrupla è molto ben progettata con 2 letti in una stanza attigua (senza bagno). Molto spaziosa e ben arredata anche se si vede subito che l'hotel ha vissuto tempi migliori. Il personale è sempre gentile e esaustivo. La colazione è sufficientemente abbondante anche se non amo le macchinette per il caffè/cappuccino ecc... Non sono stato in spiaggia, ma la piscina è di tutto rispetto. Molto grande e molto ben attrezzata. Il mare di Tirrenia è la classica spiaggia di sabbia che si trova sulla maggior parte delle coste italiane.

Unico piccolo neo è la doccia che risulta un po' strettina, ma per il resto nulla da eccepire.

Quiet, lovely scenery, everything we needed for a 1 night stay.

If you had no transport it’s a little out of the way. Be good if there was private or reserved parking. We managed to find one but in peak season or arriving at a busy time it could be difficult.

Pool, friendly staff who were very helpful. Proximity to the beach and centre of town with all amenities

No balcony for our room, that would have made room perfect. hard to find info on where things were located. Big storm and rain came in through the windows, has obviously happened before Not the hotel but local travel was a bit difficult, taxis v hard to get and expensive

I really liked the pool and the beech. There were plenty of spaces and loungers, so there was no fighting over it. The bus station is near by, so easy access to Pisa. The fair is only 2 Euros, so worth riding the bus. From there you can get a train to many places like Florence. The stuff at reception were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was also very good.

The stuff that served food and cleaned the rooms were borderline rude. It was difficult to communicate with them and I was not sure if it was because they did not understand English or because they were fed up serving people. The cleaning lady burst the door open the one time we were in during her rounds that I jumped out of my skin. There was no respect for privacy or knocking first. The restaurant is overpriced for what it is, so we ate outside the hotel (plenty of restaurant near by) The room was small and the furnishing was basic. I expected more from a 4 star hotel. The window was so dirty from the outside, that it spoilt our opportunity to look through it. The pillows were as flat as pancakes, and it got so cold at night from the aircon (which we were unable to regulate) that we had to use the only blanket in the cupboard. The card to our room would not work, so we had to use a key at all times, which was so heavy it was pulling my shorts down. There was a dog nearby, which barked all the time, so it spoilt the tranquility of our stay. Thankfully, it was just for a day as we were leaving shortly after the dog arrived at the scene.
