Hotel Palacio de la Magdalena

We stayed here to be close to Asturias airport for a morning flight. The hotel is a lovely old building, the room is a good size and the staff are wonderful. The breakfast has lots of variety and well worth the price. We had dinner at the hotel as well..they went above and beyond to accommodate our dietary needs, within the menu del dia, which was excellent value and no other dinner options within walking distance. Soto del Barco is on the Camino del Norte and is serviced by buses and trains but one really needs a car to explore the area.

Unfortunately the spa was closed due to a mechanical issue so that was disappointing but beyond the hotel’s control.

We liked lots of things! The hotel is gorgeous, with an internal courtyard and interesting art. The room was very comfortable and had a lovely view. The location is also great, close to beaches, hiking, and the airport. One highlight was the spa with pools and sauna, which was accessible directly from the hotel. We had a great full body massage as well - highly recommended. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, a fantastic stay and we are hoping to come back.

A kettle to make tea in the room would be great.

Lovely room and sitting areas. Set menu was good.

I booked this because it had a pool. I was expecting a pool for swimming not a jacuzzi. It cost €18 to use anyway and you can’t actually swim in it!

The location is very good and close to many nice places such as Cudillero or San Juan de la Arena.

Generally is old. Needs refurbishment. Breakfast very very poor. Few choices, horrible juice and coffee. The works is with difference the breakfast. It did not even reach the minimum.
